Sparkle the Otter woke up early in their cozy little home by the lake. They stretched, yawned, and wiggled their whiskers.

“Thanksgiving is almost here!” Sparkle said with a smile.

Sparkle wasn’t having guests this year, but they still wanted their home to feel warm and happy.“ A clean home helps my heart feel thankful,” they said.

First, Sparkle looked around the living room. A few toys were on the floor.“Let’s play a game!” Sparkle laughed. They scooped up the toys and popped them into the toy basket.“ Cleaning as I go makes it fun!”

Next, Sparkle padded into the kitchen. There were crumbs from breakfast. They grabbed a little cloth and wiped the counter.“ Swipe, swipe… all clean!”

Sparkle hummed their favorite song: Pick it up, put it away—A clean home makes a happy day!

Then Sparkle checked the table.“ Oh! It needs to be ready for Thanksgiving,” they said. Sparkle placed a tiny pumpkin in the middle and smoothed the napkins.

“It doesn’t matter if it’s just me,” Sparkle said.“ God gives me this home, and I’m thankful for it.”

They looked around and thought about all the blessings God gave them: a warm place to sleep, food to eat, clean water, friends, and the beautiful lake outside. Sparkle whispered, “Thank You, God, for everything You give.”

Finally, Sparkle fluffed the pillows, straightened the rug, and took a big happy breath. “My home feels cozy and peaceful,” they said.

Sparkle turned to their little friends listening and said,“ You can help at your home too! Put your toys away, wipe your crumbs, and make your space tidy. Cleaning a little each day helps us stay thankful for what God gives us.”

With a soft smile, Sparkle curled up with a blanket and whispered:“ Happy Thanksgiving, friends. Let’s sparkle, shine, and give thanks to God!”
